In today’s neoliberal university, “academics” are all too often limited to the privileged environment of the classroom, where knowledge fails to touch and alter the world. 

In contrast, The Global Center for Advanced Studies believes that academics are inextricably linked to the real, concrete situations of our world. 

To that end, our courses aim to change the world by strengthening community leaders, independent writers, researchers, and activists through practice. 

Theory and action are inherently interwoven, which distinguishes GCAS.

We are currently redesigning our website, however on this page you can discover more particular information about how our community embodies practice from all over the world; we already have researchers (students) and instructors from over 45 countries. 

However, by building global classrooms, we may learn and empower one another.
